Morgan Freeman plays Nelson Mandela in a gripping portrayal of the freedom fighter's first term in office and his fight to unify the country by winning the 1995 rugby World Cup.

Author of Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Made a Nation, the book on which Invictus, the Hollywood blockbuster film, was based.

Doors open at 17.00, for canapés conversation and private tours of the Museum. Screening will begin at 18.30.

Tickets are £15 in advance, either from
WeGotTickets , or direct from the Museum (020 7840 2200)

  • A screening of Invictus
  • Q&A with John Carlin, author of the book Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Made a Nation, on which Invictus was based
  • Book signing of Playing the Enemy: John Carlin will sign copies of his book
  • Early tours of The Cinema Museum – a historic building housing a unique collection of artefacts
  • Drinks and canapés
  • Raffles

After the screening, there will be an interview and Q&A with special guest John Carlin (author of the book Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Made a Nation' on which Invictus was based).

Light supper/food will be available from The Cinema Museum cafe, and there will be a licensed bar.
